Our mission is to provide delicious, high-quality vegan, gluten-free, and paleo desserts, in hopes of providing sweets for everyone, no matter what allergy restrictions one may have. We believe everyone should enjoy a homemade dessert, and Bakefully Yours strives to bake healthier treats that do not lack quality or taste!

WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

Bakefully Yours is a health-conscious bakery, based in Haymarket Virginia, that provides gluten-free, vegan, and paleo desserts to the Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia areas. Sarah Seligman is the founder of Bakefully Yours and she loves challenging herself in the kitchen by baking healthy, traditional desserts. With a passion for baking since she was a young girl, Sarah realized she could fulfill her lifelong dream and start her own bakery. The name ‘Bakefully Yours’ came to fruition from Sarah’s gluten-free and paleo baking for herself, family and friends and she has maintained this healthy and wholesome cuisine in her bakery.

Our quality baked goods are locally made and personally baked using fresh and high-quality ingredients. Bakery items are uniquely packaged; putting the customer’s needs first.

Our primary focus is providing scrumptious baked goods for people looking for healthier desserts.  Consumers with food allergies such as gluten, soy, corn, dairy, nuts or eggs can still enjoy sweet, tasty treats without a hurtful health risk.  Our bakery does not use artificial flavors, colors or high fructose corn syrup. We believe customers do not have to give up mouthwatering taste in order to eat wholesome healthy desserts.


HOW WE GOT STARTED

In an interview with the owner: Sarah states “I have been baking since I was ten years old. For the past five years I have been personally eating gluten-free and dairy-free. While in college, I thought I wanted to pursue a career in law enforcement/criminal justice. I soon realized after getting a part-time job in a local butcher shop that my passion for baking could turn into an actual business. This exposure to food services and retail business afforded me the experience to learn about the industry and the skills necessary to launch my own business in baking. As a result, my talent for baking was unveiled and I felt it was the right time in my life to start my company. I knew I wanted to make desserts that everyone could enjoy, no matter what food allergies my customers may have. I am so grateful for this opportunity.”



OUR PLEDGE TO YOU

Our pledge is to take every precaution in our commercial kitchen to ensure our products are gluten-free.  We use only certified gluten free flours, and ensure that other ingredients are gluten free as well. We are NOT a nut free bakery

Our staff is trained to be sensitive to cross-contact by:

  • Checking that all equipment and utensils, such as knives, plastic cutting boards, and spoons, are cleaned with hot, soapy water before being used, or can be sanitized and placed in the dishwasher to prepare nut-free, gluten-free, allergen-free products.
  • Making sure any pots, utensils, etc. that are used for foods are thoroughly scrubbed before using and can be sanitized in the dishwasher. When using muffin tins, paper liners are used.
  • Being particularly careful about nuts and seeds, as they may leave an oily residue, potentially leaving allergens behind on plates, counters, tables and cutting boards. We wash with cleaning agents thoroughly to prevent cross-contact and any possible cross-contamination.
